"One of the oldest but fastest declining ecosystems, mangrove forests store up to 4 times as much carbon as regular forests, and that’s besides them being home to a huge number of flora and fauna and playing natural buffers to coastal erosion and flooding.
Mumbai’s mangroves do all of this and my art aims to serve as a reminder of the importance of preserving them, more urgently so, owing to rising sea levels. We live in a beautiful intricately interconnected system and it’s up to us to help maintain its equilibrium for optimal functioning.
