"Mangroves-shrubs or small trees that grow in coastal or saline or brackish water- home to numerous species,flocking point for migratory birds, sustaining fisheries, providing flood protection and I could go on and on... Incidentally you could get to see the migratory pink flamingoes sitting within the confines of many a home in amchi Navi Mumbai. Unfortunately, the rapid pace of construction is a grave threat to the wonderful ecosystem and the biodiversity therein. My art is a depiction of the many aspects of mangrove and a small effort to raise awareness for protection of this ecosystem."
