"Mumbai has a long coastline of about 150 kms and hence is a home to hundreds of plants and animal species. But due to growing urbanization these lands are reclaimed for infrastructure and port projects.

In the recent past we have seen a huge decline in the migration of the flamingos in the wetlands, previously a home to flamingos during winters. Mangroves are excellent water controllers and help in breaking the waves and not allowing water to enter inlands during floods with its huge outgrown roots.

Hence, it is necessary to preserve them in order to protect our lands from lifethreatning disasters. It is high time we take an initiative in saving this species and protecting our planet from further disasters.

SAVE OUR MANGROVES."
