"Mumbai's DNA
The mangrove ecosystem has seen alot of changes over the years. Beginning by covering a vast area across the Seven beautiful islands of Bombay, to now fighting for survival in the corners of Mumbai. From hosting a wide variety of flora and fauna, to now an ever dwindling population within it's system. Its roots are deep within this city. One of the few things that hasn't changed is the understanding and appreciation of them by the native Koli community ( fisherfolk ) who have been living harmoniously with this system for generations. The Mangroves importance in Mumbai's Economical and Ecological future cannot be understated. For this city to thrive we need to find a balance where nature and humans can coexist for the benefit of all."
